How many times have you heard of people working in a industry that is so far from the field that their degree is in? Well, I am just another one of those statistics. I graduated from college with an accounting degree. I did become a CPA and worked as a tax accountant. While I had a great career with a wonderful company, I was constantly feeling the urge to create, to inspire and to be inspired. And taxes just weren't doing it for me.
As I began to explore my next career move, I greatly considered venturing into the fashion industry. Fashion has constantly intrigued and inspired me, and I wondered if I could integrate my love for the arts into my day job. Creating jewelry was an easy transition. I love accessories and truly believe that jewelry can take your style to the next level.
I started with an inventory of Swarovski crystals and pearls, some gemstones and sterling silver components. I would sit in the kitchen at the counter for hours upon hours after getting home from work creating necklaces, bracelets and earrings. All day I would think about what I was going to create when I got home. It was all I wanted to do in the evenings. I started showing a few pieces to my family, and I all of a sudden had a long list of orders. The more I would show, the more orders I would receive. I could not believe the response, but I was absolutely thrilled.
In 2009, I left my accounting position and became a full-time jewelry designer. It has been amazing. Every day I get to do what I love and truly enjoy seeing my clients' reactions to wearing new, fabulous jewelry. They stand a little taller and walk a little prouder. It is such an honor to give someone that little bit of added confidence, and really makes my job so much better.
Today, I make jewelry for every occasion; from weddings and black tie affairs to great work-wear and weekend looks. These pieces are versatile, fun and really dress up your style. In addition to what you see here, I would be thrilled to work with you to create one-of-a-kind pieces for that special occasion or special someone. Also, if you are interested in seeing a whole spread of my jewels, let's host a party. Just send me a note, and we will get the plan in the works.
Finally, I must thank my amazing husband, John and our family and friends. I would not be where I am today without their constant love and support. Thank you for all that you do.
